Over at the Wayward Muse blog, I've been authoring a series called Erotic Zen. The weekly posts are meant to encourage readers to pay attention to the role Eros plays in their life through various mini-exercises and reflections. One of my recent entries (in bold red below) has been featured in the latest e[lust] anthology. Check it out along with the other sexy, hot and informative pieces that are currently being highlighted:

Exposing My Self to Airport Security - I stared right at her until she looked away and called for assistance for a pat-down search. I gaped, chin dropped: holy shit, they're gonna give me a pat down cuz I'm packing a silicon cock.

Prefect’s Prerogative - When I neglect this duty, or don't perform it to his satisfaction, he makes me light a fire in his room, and stand in front of it in just my school shirt and white socks.

Attention Women: There is Something Wrong With Your Vagina - Yes, that’s what your vagina needs: a breath mint. Because, just like vagina shouldn’t smell like vagina, it also shouldn’t taste like vagina.

The Perfect Fat Why do clothes designers assume that if you're plus-sized you're 1. over 5?9? and 2. over the age of 45 or “matronly and modest”? At the age of 32 I am not yet ready to dress like my grandmother.

Zipless- “I have some Scotch in my room—maybe you’d join me? You know, in the interest of not drinking alone…” She smiled. Perhaps she could yet salvage the day’s ending.

When You Have Something To Say...

How much is too much?

As a blogger, (or writer in any medium), do you know where that line between getting your point across and oversharing lies? On the January 17 Wayward Muse Show, we started to touch on this very topic. Unfortunately our show is only one hour, and there never seems to be enough time to cover all that we set out to discuss! Still, this topic has remained on my mind in the last couple of weeks.

I've been putting myself out there in blogs and elsewhere online since around 2004, under various pseudonyms. As a person who craves outlets for creative expression, using the world wide web seemed like a natural evolution of that desire. There's never been any one specific theme or rhyme or reason to what I write...I tend to talk about whatever it is that strikes me on any given day. On the surface, I wonder if the words and thoughts I share seem somewhat disjointed. I try to connect ideas and concepts together, though I feel as if I might not always accomplish what I originally set out to do. Though I like to think that even if my writing occasionally has a "schizophrenic" way of unraveling, it's an amusing process to witness. Right? ;)

But why do I do it? Who do I write for?

In past PSO positions I've held, part of the job was to maintain a "character blog" as a promotional tool. I was very good at utilizing that medium and in all honesty, it was a lot of fun too. I was lucky in that I was granted a lot of creative freedom in what I produced and my work provided some good return on investment for my company. What was also interesting is how no matter who my character was, parts of the real me always came through in my writing. I never did figure out if that was a good or bad thing.

Then there is this blog. In many ways, what I do here is work through my own questions, issues and contemplations. I'd be lying though, if I claimed that I never censor myself in what I produce on these pages. For obvious reasons, there are certain private things about myself and my identity that I won't reveal in a blog or any online medium. But. I find myself questioning why put my ideas and experiences out there in watered-down version? What good is it to gloss over the things that truly impact me? What is gained by holding myself back? Who am I writing for?

Self-censoring seems contradictory to the very notion of creative expression itself. There's a difference between editing your writing so it is readable and delivers an effective message, and treading lightly on the things that matter and are close to your heart. I don't think I'm alone in this plight.

Maybe I fear judgment or some sort of negative repercussion if I really let myself go and fully explore my writing. Yet on the other side of the coin, it pisses me off that I even give a shit. I'm a writer. Let the world beware! In the podcast, I talked about writing because I *need* to. Because if I don't write something, somewhere, I will lose my mind. Because there are things I have to say. And yet, lately, I find myself not *really* saying what I want or meant to. What's up with that?

So I ask, how do you determine what is shared in your writing and how far you'll go to get your message heard? Do you ever feel the need to censor yourself? Have you ever regretted sharing something in a blog or in your own writing?

Paid Male Whores, Va-jazzle, Oversharing And More....

Sunday, January 17, 2010

These were just a few of the topics covered on the latest Wayward Muse Show.

Melanie and I had a ball tonight...we shared lots of laughs throughout the Sex In The News segment (its near impossible not to crack up at some of that shit) and we also discussed the "processes" we use in our writing endeavors. Mainly, I learned that I have no process. :P

I invite you to listen in to the podcast of the 1-17-10 show below!

Call For Radio Guests and Interviews

Monday, January 11, 2010

We made it through the first "broadcast" of the Wayward Muse show yesterday rather seamlessly! A couple of minor technical glitches had Melanie and I momentarily baffled, but we were able to march on. If you would like to listen to the podcast, you can click on the Blog Talk Radio widget in the right sidebar.

The vision for the weekly show/podcast is to open up a channel where frank, entertaining conversations on sexuality, creativity, gender identity, pop culture, and exploring the erotic will be emphasized. The atmosphere we are seeking to create is one of tolerance, inquisitiveness, and sharing in a non-judgmental format.

I am planning on scheduling guest spots on upcoming Wayward Muse shows and want to invite you to contact me if you might be interested. We're happy to promote your website, blog, causes or events you're involved with on the show. Email me at pagankinktress@yahoo.com for more info or if you'd like to discuss a possible guest appearance.

Moving forward & a new sexy, fun radio show

Sunday, January 10, 2010
It's amazing how when you're inspired and have a good partner to work with, your projects and endeavors can come together so nicely! In the next few days, the Wayward Muse company website will go live and we'll be "open for business" officially.

I've been an independent contractor while in the PSO world, and even though that technically means I work for myself, its not exactly like that in most cases. When I work at a phone entertainment company, it certainly is structured differently from other jobs I've had. S till, I never really got the sense of complete ownership or control over what I did, produced, or how I presented myself.

Going into this endeavor gives me the opportunity to truly run a business and do it *my way*. It still feels almost surreal at this point, and as I've said to my partner, I'm sure there are a lot of things we're going to learn as we go. It's taking a leap into the unknown in a big way...and yet that so gets my adrenaline flowing.

This feels right for me at this time in my life.

Tonight at 6pm EST, my partner and I will be debuting our radio show/podcast. Our goal is to bring together discussion on the erotic, sexuality, creativity, and pop culture on a weekly basis. You can hear the show live and stream it right on your computer or check back after it airs to listen to the podcast. If you are able to listen live, you can join Melanie and I in the chatroom for the show or call in to talk with us. In order to call in via phone, I believe you need to register a user name at Blog Talk Radio and long distance charges may apply. There also is an option to call in via Skype or through your PC with a microphone, but I have no clue how that works at the moment. Anyway, I'm excited about reaching out in this medium and hope you'll be able to give a listen later today!

New Year; New Venture

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Over the past month or so, I've been involved in co-creating a new project in which I'm extremely proud and thrilled to get underway. Many of you know I've worked on and off for the past five years in the phone sex industry...or the "audio entertainment biz", as I very sheepishly refer to it at times. I've not been a very active "entertainer" in the last year for a variety of reasons. However, I try to keep up with what's going on in the industry and am always interested in following trends and even occasionally informally coach other phone entertainers. On one of the online industry forums in which I frequent, I recently became acquainted with a very talented erotica writer and PSO (phone sex operator). We discovered we each shared a great passion for writing, sexual exploration, sex-positive education, and a desire to build upon our experience in the world of phone sex in a slightly different way.

After much thoughtful consideration and planning, we are about to unveil our joint writing gig. Together we have formed "Wayward Muses", a creative consulting business providing website content and assistance to fellow PSO's and other sex industry enterprises. I won't get into the nuts and bolts of the services we're preparing to launch, as Bohemian Rhapsodee is my personal blog and not meant to be a venue to "talk shop". I do want to invite you to visit the joint blog where I will be writing frequently. My partner Melanie and I are hopeful that the Wayward Muse blog will be a space to share information on sexuality and be a source of erotic entertainment as well. Come visit! :)
